What curriculum do you follow?
We use a remarkably diverse approach. While we utilise CAPS for our primary resources, we integrate Waldorf principles (focusing on “head, heart, and hands”) and Montessori methods to ensure the education is child-centred. This blend facilitates a positive transformation as children move through our school.
Do you support students with ADHD or Autism?
Yes. Through our neuroscience-accredited programmes and sensory-friendly environment, we provide the specific support neurodiverse students need to thrive without necessarily relying on medication.
What if my child is not suited for academics?
We are one of the few schools actively building a skills-based programme. We offer referrals and are working towards in-house vocational training for students who will thrive more in practical, job-creating roles than in traditional academic settings.
Do you offer places for children without any problems?
Of course! We offer the standard CAPS Curriculum – and some other choices, too. Children who find their class too slow will be placed in the right grade to maximise their potential.
What is the benefit of the GED vs Cambridge?
Cambridge offers a traditional academic gold standard, while the GED provides a flexible, internationally recognised qualification. We help you choose the path that best suits your child’s temperament.
Are you a Special Needs School?
No; we occupy the vital space between high-support disability centres and large-scale mainstream schools. Our small classes are ideal for learners who require more personal attention and a calmer atmosphere than a typical 25+ pupil per class private school.
Is Chrysalis Academy registered?
Yes, we have been fully registered with the GDE since 2012. We are currently aligning with organisations like ISASA to maintain the highest standards of private school excellence and professional integrity.
Are you government funded?
No. We are a small, self-sustained, family-owned school. While we do not have corporate sponsors, we are eager to build new partnerships—please contact our Marketing Manager to discuss this further.
